Eat the Crayon comes on every Friday at 5pm (central time) on 91.7 FM KTRU, Rice Radio, Houston, Texas.

During the summer and winter breaks, however, shows will only be occasional. Expect regular programming around mid-September, but stay tuned and check here for summer specials.

We feature stories and interviews about everything, from poetry to policy, from science to storytelling.

Children’s Music Education

All kids love to sing and dance, but parents don’t always know how to channel that innate curiosity in a way that is beneficial and educational for their kids. Joelle Zigman spoke about children’s music education with Rachel Buchman. Rachel is a lecturer in music and the head of the Young Children’s Division at Rice’s Shepherd School of Music.
